What’s worse than COVID-19? A “hunger pandemic," also being called COVID-20 by local Nigerians. This hunger pandemic is projected to outpace the death toll of coronavirus with 300,000 people dying a day due to starvation. According to the UN, coronavirus-related starvation is leading to the death of 10,000 children a day.

COVID-19 lockdowns have closed schools & businesses and increased trade restrictions which have impacted both food production and affordable food sales. Strained healthcare systems and humanitarian organizations are no longer able to provide basic life essentials.

Before the pandemic, 821 million people went to bed hungry every night, and an additional 135 million people faced crisis level hunger. As an outcome of COVID, yet another 130 million people will be “pushed to the brink of starvation.” Now, more than ever, we need to unite and give H.O.P.E. Just $7 can help feed a child for a week.
